Finale of the "Adapt to climate change" media project contest on climate change adaptation took place on November 15. The competition, targeting students and young professionals, aimed to promote the participation of journalists and other young sectoral professionals in raising public awareness on climate change adaptation by creating quality news on climate change impacts in vulnerable sectors. The contest was organized in the frame of UNDP-GCF Armenia’s National Adaptation Plan (NAP) project by Public Journalism Club.
Authors of 10 best projects selected for the final had the chance to finalize and publish their projects after working alongside professional mentors engaged in the contest - notably Mariam Tashchyan, Gegham Vardanyan, Gevorg Tosunyan, Lilit Hovhannisyan and Karine Asatryan.
During the finale contestants Sona Hovsepyan, Nune Avetisyan, Narek Aleksanyan, Karine Kazarova, Artem Ghazaryan, Serine Serobyan, Angin Tsaturyan, Natalya Osyan and Sona Khlopuzyan, Adrine Torosyan, Լուսինե Lusine Grigoryan presented their already completed and published projects on selected topics related to climate change impacts and adaptation in agriculture, water resources, natural ecosystems and tourism sectors.
Based on the evaluation by the Jury of the contest Nune Avetisyan, Karine Kazarova and Adrine Torosyan were recognized as winners of the contest and received awards.
